Our team of User Experience Designers have been designing for the web since its inception as a visual medium.

Bruce Randall: Co-Founder/User Experience Director

Bruce Randall Bruce began designing and building websites 15 years ago.

Bruce is an entreprenuer who started his first business while still in school at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He designed, lead and marketed a accountability and achievement program called Action Coaching Teams (A.C.T.) and lead many other motivation and achievement courses. Driven by his desire to make a difference, Bruce saw the possibilities presented by this new communication medium as soon as he was introduced to the World Wide Web.

In 1994 he turned his focus to learnig everything he could about the Web, and by 1996 he was developing websites for FedEx, Apple, Sun Microsystems and many other early adopters.

Bruce met Sanjay Shamdasani in 1997 and left the firm they were working for to start their first Web Design firm together. From the beginning they have developed world-class solutions by utilizing and evangilizing a user-focused methodology.

Bruce has lead projects for large firms including American Express, Apple Computer, Blue Shield of California, Charles Schwab & Co. and Xerox, start-ups such as Handspring and Prosper.com, and non-profits including the San Francisco International Film Festival and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America.

Bruce has managed and mentored over 100 web designers, developers and managers. He has provided training and consulting regarding web design best practices and search engine optimization and served as a moderator for seochat.com for over a year.

Sanjay Shamdasani: Co-Founder/User Experience Director

Sanjay Shamdasani Sanjay Shamdasani began in the industry before the first web browser was born, working for News International, uploading digital content for The Times Newspapers to a then text based Internet service.

As the web became a graphical medium, utilizing his background in Fine Art, Sanjay was soon designing some of the first mainstream web sites in the U.K., including The Times Newspapers and Camden Lock, the first U.K. e-zine. In 1997, as the Internet age arrived, he moved to San Francisco to manage the second generation redesign of the FedEx website and by late 1998 had started his first web design firm with Bruce Randall.

Over subsequent years, Sanjay has grown several thriving web design businesses leading design and development teams to create visually compelling user-centered web design solutions for a client roster that includes The Gap, Xerox, Hitachi, Apple, Sun Microsystems, 3Com, Palm, AMD, Handspring, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Starbucks, CSC, Charles Schwab, Barclays and American Express.

Having worked with major financial services firms over the last 10 years, Sanjay has developed deep domain expertise in this sector. He has conducted extensive web-based user research and designed interfaces for Trading (Stock and Options), Alerting, Cost Basis, Reporting, and Account Opening, web-based applications as well as Product and Research based sites.

Throughout his years of experience, Sanjay has championed the significance of the end user within the design process, promoting user research and evaluation whenever possible. He has managed and moderated user evaluation and usability sessions across the country and is an expert in the field.

Sanjay graduated from the London School of Economics with a degree in Economics and Philosophy and has a diploma in Art and Design from the Chelsea College of Art.

Jeff Gimzek: UX Design Lead/Art Director

Jeff Gimzick Jeff's career in digital design goes back to digitizing tablets and dedicated hardware, while Arpanet was still just for scientists.

After graduating from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a degree in Art and Technology at the start of the internet age, Jeff headed to NYC, where he spent the next 12 years doing overall strategic and creative vision, branding, content and navigation design and information architecture for many of New York's largest agencies, including Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, Grey Interactive, Ogilvy Interactive, Agency.com, Smart Design USA, Organic, Inc. and Y & R's online branch, Brand Dialog.

His clients have ranged from Fortune 500's like American Express, JPMorganChase, Cisco Systems and Dell Computer to international fashion, political campaigns, software companies, and start-ups like Glassdoor.com.

Over his years in the industry, Jeff has transitioned from a visual designer to a more holistic practitioner of online interactions, specializing in user-friendly, brand-oriented interfaces designed for users of web-based software and applications.

Jeff's combination of interaction design, information architecture and clean, crisp visual design increases the value of our client's internet and software products by transforming complicated information systems that utilize data-base driven infrastructures into easy to use, satisfying usability experiences.

Greg Morantz: Senior UX Designer

Greg Morantz Greg Morantz is a Senior User Experience Designer for Spring Studio and has been designing and developing websites and online applications since 1998.

Greg has lead the design on projects for firms including: Charles Schwab, Barclay's Global Investors, Genentech, Adobe, Macromedia, Sony, the United States Air Force, MensWarehouse, Method, and many more.

Over his years in the industry, Greg has transitioned from a front end developer and information architect to a more holistic user experience professional, specializing in initial generative research, interaction design, site architecture, user experience specifications, and usability testing on web based software and applications.

Greg has a BA in Psychology and a BA in Sociology attained from San Francisco State University.
